silcnyet is a small silcnet that has been founded in around 2005.
There are 3 a few servers at the moment and we're trying
to create a stable silc environment. It's not that easy to do this
because there's absolutely no documentation about the whole linking and
fallback stuff. Anyway, as a normal user you shouldn't have to care about
this. Feel free to read on.
I guess the biggest channel on silcnyet is #hackerhippie.
We're currently running anonymous hostmasks, trying to protect
people from getting owned because they post their root-password
to silc by accident. There's nothing special about it. It just
shows a random host like xoger@gikym.keka.silc instead of your
real hostname. Anonymous hostmasks do not mean that we can't ban you.
'We' (as in 'the operators') still know where you come from.
Information about the silc-protocol and the clients supporting
it can be found on silcnet.org what also is the "official" silc
network.

Install the silc client of your choice, e.g. silc-client and do
the following:
$ silc -c silc.silcnyet.orgsilc.silcnyet.org points to the server(s) listed above.
Every admin can be contacted by mailing to adminhandle@silcnyet.org. If there's something
'global', you can join silcnyet and query one of the opers (or just throw it into the channel).
